The 28.9km Sungai Besi Expressway or commonly known as Besraya Expressway is an urban expressway that extends from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Interchange in the south to the Istana Interchange in Kuala Lumpur and MRR2 in the east. Its southeastern trajectory links the following urban centres: Ampang, Pandan, Sungai Besi, Seri Kembangan, Serdang. Its links with other expressways such as PLUS, SILK, NPE and KESAS widens its connections to down south like Seremban and other urban centres such as KL City Center, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Sri Petaling, Subang Jaya and Sunway. Key landmark on Besraya is Mines Resort which is a premier recreational and shopping outlet in Klang Valley. It provides convenient link between Kuala Lumpur city centre and other routes such as Kuchai Lama, Seri Kembangan, Balakong, Kajang and Seremban. An important landmark was achieved on 15 April 2014 when the 12.3KM Besraya Eastern Extension (BEE) was opened on by Deputy Minister of Works. BEE extends Besraya’s reach towards Cheras and Ampang while passing through several developed areas such as Loke Yew, Shamelin Perkasa, Middle Ring Road 2 and Pandan Indah. Besraya has 2 toll plazas at Mines and Loke Yew, 23 interchanges and 21 bridges.
